    The SURE Annual Meeting and Policy Brief Writing Workshop takes place in Maputo, Mozambique between 5 to 9 September 2011.
  2. WHO launches the e-Library of Evidence for Nutrition Actions (eLENA)
    10 August 2011 - WHO today launched the electronic Library of Evidence for Nutrition Actions or eLENA in Colombo, Sri Lanka. As part of a global effort to improve maternal, young child and infant health, e-LENA brings together the latest evidence-informed WHO guidelines, commentaries and evidence resources on the broad topic of nutrition. The aim of this new e-library is to stimulate effective nutrition actions and guide programme and policy design.
  3. Morocco - Maternal Mortality Reduction high national prority to reach MDG 5 - UNFPA Policy brief
    Although not using EVIPNet methodologies yet, this policy brief is helpful in showing how Morocco has implemented efficient strategies of intervention to accelerate the reduction of maternal mortality.

    The exercise of the evidence informed policy brief writing with multisectoral health players such as UNFPA, UNICEF, WHO and the ministry of health was an opportunity to review and highlight the strategies of intervention which have an immediate impact on maternal mortality reduction. The next step for Morocco will be to establish the mechanisms for sustainable and long term effective intervention effects.

  4. EVIPNet REACH Uganda : Evidence informed policy brief on Skilled Birth Care
    EVIPNet Reach Uganda developed an evidence informed policy brief on Skilled Birth Care and will organize national policy dialogues with mid-level health policymakers, managers, civil society and the media and an other one with legislators and senior managers from the Ministry of Health. This evidence brief on ‘Increasing Access to Skilled Birth Attendance’ packages the best current knowledge on facility-led interventions to reduce maternal mortality.

  5. Second round of the Call for Proposals funded by the IDRC grant
    The World Health Organization supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) invites letters of intent (LOI) from EVIPNet-Africa country teams and other interested Knowledge Translation Platforms (KTPs) in sub-Saharan Africa to identify and develop new and innovative knowledge translation activities that explore, deepen or promote evidence-informed policy-making processes.
